Cable and Wireless Plc has signed a new 25-year licence with the government of Antigua and Barbuda to provide external telecommunications services and with it an associated loan agreement under which C&W will provide $13m to the Antigua Public Utilities Authority to continue expansion of the Antigua and Barbuda national telephone system: the UK company has been operating in the Caribbean state for over 100 years.
