CABLE & WIRELESS FELL 2P AT 140P ON ANALYST’S WORD

Cable & Wireless fell 2p at 140p on word that analysts will be taken out to see its operations in Hong Kong this weekend, said lunchtime editions of the London Evening Standard on Friday because analysts are a boozy lot and it will cost the company an arm and a leg? Because it is feared that it wants them out of the way in Hong Kong when something dreadful is about to happen to Mercury back home? Or simply because they won’t be around to continue talking the shares up? Don’t you think we should be told?
