Cable & Wireless Inc’s CEO Gabe Battista has resigned to take over at Network Solutions Inc, the internet domain name registrar for InterNIC, previously know as Network Information Center. He starts on November 1. His replacement is Alan Peyser, who founded the US subsidiary of Cable & Wireless Plc in Vienna, Virginia in 1975, and was CEO until Battista took over last year. It is not clear whether Peyser’s appointment is temporary, though he had already retired and was on hand as a consultant to Cable & Wireless.
