CABLE & WIRELESS AND AT&T JAMAICA FORM JAMAICA DIGIPORT INTERNATIONAL

Cable & Wireless Plc, AT&T Co and Telecommunications of Jamaica Ltd have formed Jamaica Digiport International to provide high quality digital telecommunications to tenants of the Jamaica Free Trade Zones: many companies, particularly in the US, get data prep and other keying work done offshore in the West Indies and AT&T and Cables will each have 35% of the venture, whcih will initially use Intelsat but later a fibre optic US link.
