Cable & Wireless Plc announced on Friday that it has abandoned its plans to expand its US-based carrier operations with the acquisition of TRT/FTC Communications Inc from Pacific Telecom Inc: necessary approvals have not come through and other conditions were not met. It is not too worried, saying its US arm is growing at 15% to 20%.
