CAA CHOOSES IBM TO LEAD FIRST AIR TRAFFIC CONSORTIUM

The Civil Aviation Authority has chosen a team headed by IBM as one of two consortia to compete in a nine-month Project Definition leading to implementation of an air traffic control system for its new En Route Centre: the IBM team includes Logica, SD-Scicon and Siemens Plessey Radar and the contract is valued at the sum of UKP2m; the centre will enable the CAA to handle rapidly increasing air traffic.
