CA UNICENTER MONITORS MICROSOFT “VIPER” TRANSACTION SERVER

By CBR Staff Writer

Computer Associates Inc has added an option to support Microsoft Corp’s Transaction Server 1.0, aka Viper, in its Unicenter TNG systems management product. The option boosts the reliablitity and availability of Viper, said Computer Associates, by automating the functions required for operating it in large environments. It monitors Transaction Server processes and disk space utilisation, provides backup and antivirus protection, and monitors the Windows NT Registry keys to identify parameter changes that could affect operations. Unicenter also manages and administers Microsoft’s MSCS Cluster Server, known as Wolfpack.
