Islandia, New York-based Computer Associates International Inc already has its CA-Unicenter systems management software up and running on Hewlett-Packard Co’s HP9000 Unix boxes, but is in the process of converting it to a range of other Unix environments. An IBM Corp OS/2 version is currently beta testing, and a version for Sequent Computer Systems Inc’s Symmetry machines will go into beta test this month, with availability due two or three months thereafter. A version for the ICL Plc DRS/6000 is expected to be announced in the next couple of weeks and Data General Corp AViiON and IBM RS/6000 versions will go into beta testing sometime between September and November. Versions for Sun Microsystems Inc Solaris, Novell Inc NetWare, NCR Corp and Pyramid Technologies Corp MIServer systems should be in beta test by year-end. Versions for Tandem Computer Inc’s Guardian machines, Novell Inc’s UnixWare and Microsoft Corp’s NT on NCR Corp boxes will be in beta test by early next year. Computer Associates says it has generated UKP1.5m in the UK from its year-old Hewlett-Packard HP-UX implementation.
