Computer Associates International Inc has announced its Opel tool for adding a multimedia front-end to legacy applications including 3270, VT100 and 5250 terminal emulation, as well as integration with Ingres desktop for single user applications. The need for Opel apparently occurred to Computer Associates while showing users early version of its Jasmine object database. Opel is planned to be available in a month.
