Computer Associates International Inc is to set up a 50:50 joint venture with Korean firm Naray Mobile Telecom for global sales and marketing of computer software. An agreement signed in Seoul this week by visiting CA chief executive Charles Wang and his counterpart at Naray, Lee Hong-sun, stipulates the new venture will be launched next month. We will make global marketing plans for high-quality, Korean-made software products, while integrating selected programs from Korean developers with CA products, said Lee. Software performance tests and evaluation services will also be provided. Naray was founded in 1992 as a regional paging operator in Seoul, and now also provides internet telephony services. Last year its turnover was $143m.
