Computer Associates International Inc has announced its plans for the Ask and Ingres product lines: Ingres becomes CA-OpenIngres, and the company is also maintaining the CA-OpenROAD system and the CA/ASK manufacturing software; the CA-OpenIngres Vision outlines plans for the CA-OpenIngres Server, and CA-OpenIngres Object Management Extension, CA-OpenIngres Replicator, CA-OpenIngres Enterprise Access and CA-OpenIngres/Star; the Application Development Tools Vision describes the strategy for CA-OpenROAD, which includes CA-OpenROAD/Architect, CA-OpenROAD/Windows4GL and the CA-OpenROAD/Database Drivers and updates plans for Cobol development using CA-Visual Realia, and Xbase development using CA-Visual Objects; and the Statement of Direction for the Ask manufacturing software describes the Islandia, New York company’s commitment to the CA-Manman product family, KBM (formerly SIM/400) and CA-Maxcim; and IBM UK Ltd has re-affirmed its original choice of the CA-Ingres database for the Royal Air Force’s UKP414m 10-year Logistics Information Technology Strategy after a thorough reappraisal following the ownership of Ask two months ago.
