If anyone cares, Computer Associates International Inc and Electronic Data Systems Corp have finally ended their childish and silly 28-month legal squabble over software licences and signed a 12-year licensing agreement that gives the systems integrator what it wanted – flexible use of all current and future Computer Associates software with existing and new customers, with options for renewal; and the two also committed to establishing an alliance in several key areas – Computer Associates is discussing giving EDS a facilities management contract for some of its own administrative and financial functions.
