CA Technologies has been selected as a supplier by the UK Government’s cloud procurement framework, G-Cloud III, to reduce costs and improve services for public sector organisations.

The Berkshire-based company, which has been providing software and SaaS solutions for over 30 years, will supply infrastructure services for the scheme that can be reviewed and purchased through the CloudStore.

The cloud services provided will include CA CloudMinder TM, CA Nimsoft Monitor, CA Nimsoft Service Desk and CA Clarity PPMTM.

Chris Hardy, public sector sales director of CA Technologies, said IT decision makers need a range of tools to manage their systems in a cost-effective way.

"Following the recent announcement that the Cabinet Office has launched a ‘cloud first’ policy it is now more important than ever for public sector organisations to truly embrace cloud and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) based solutions," he added.

"Aside from the cost savings, organisations can also leverage significant economies of scale by procuring CA Technologies world-class solutions through G-Cloud."

The third version of the UK government’s cloud framework is designed to encourage the adoption of cloud computing, while reducing costs, in the public sector.

Under the G-Cloud framework, all central government ICT procurement agencies must consider a cloud offering before opting for ‘on-premise’ options.
