CA Technologies has released its CA VM:Manager Suite for Linux on System z and a new capability for CA Solve Operations Automation.
With the release, the company has added new capabilities to its mainframe Linux management product portfolio, and also announced partnerships with INNOVATION Data Processing and Velocity Software that are designed to help customers increase cost savings by optimising Linux management.
INNOVATION Data Processing’s UPSTREAM for Linux on Z and UPSTREAM for z/OS UNIX offer easy-to-use data protection, allowing z/OS storage managers to centrally manage storage in hybrid mainframe and distributed environments.
Velocity Software’s zVPS Performance Suite helps IT organizations optimise performance and costs through graphical, real-time access to detailed performance data and analysis of z/VM and Linux on System z performance.
The company notes that the new products come with new capabilities that broaden CA Technologies existing portfolio of cross-enterprise Linux management software for System z and distributed systems in areas including Security, Performance Management, Workload Automation, Storage Management, Event Automation, Application Development and Data Transport.
The CA VM:Manager Suite includes enhancements across product areas, which extend integrated management capabilities designed to improve performance, increase user productivity and efficiently manage and secure z/VM systems that support Linux on System z.
It also adds tape management capabilities for Linux on System z, along with improvements that help customers install, deploy and service their CA z/VM products quickly.
