Minneapolis, Minnesota-based Network Systems Inc’s Bytex unit has announced Port Switched Ethernet support for its Series 7700 line of switching hubs. The new Port Switched Ethernet modules will enable network managers to create and modify existing Ethernet local area networks, helping them to build up to 144 virtual local area networks through a single hub. The company adds that, as administrators can assign any port to any local area network on the hub, they will face no limits on the variety of possible configurations. The modules are available now; the company gave no prices.
