The companies said the system would allow a user reading a bibliography in a Word document to purchase a listed book from Amazon. Users would also be able to add bibliography references and book cover art from Word.
The integration uses Amazon’s web services developers kit and to pull XML feeds into the Research Task Pane of Office applications. The software add-on will be available for free from Microsoft later this quarter.
