Netscape Communications Corp executives who came from Collabra laughed off the notion that Netscape would license Notes replication, saying that the technology isn’t magic dust that one can sprinkle over everything to make it work. Bob Lisbonne, Netscape VP of client product marketing, said replication was intended to mask Notes’ original scalability issues. While Netscape said that a proxy server is usually a better solution than replication on the Internet, it is working on replication based on Collabra technology, ready soonish.
