The two companies signed a deal this week to collaborate over the development of focused BI and analytic applications geared specially for optimizing real estate management.

Accruent, which was founded in 1995 and based in Santa Monica, California, specializes in so-called real estate performance management (RPM) applications that attempt to bridge the gap between corporate strategy and real estate operations. Its software is used by 340 companies, including 20% of the Fortune 500.

Under the terms of the extended relationship Business Objects XI platform will be offered as a core part of Accruent’s RPM 7 platform to provide BI analysis across the real estate lifecycle, from acquiring and developing properties to managing facilities.

Accruent has OEM’d Business Objects’ technology for several years. ‘We’re taking that to the next level by embedding our BI platform, said Wyatt Mullin, vice president of global ISV channel at San Jose, California-based Business Objects.
