BUSINESS OBJECTS LOOKS TO HAVE PITCHED PRICE TOO LOW

While London new issues have turned out to be very overpriced of late, it looks as if Business Objects SA priced its shares too cheaply in its initial public offering in the US (page seven): shares in the French software company – from the Paris suburb of Puteaux, soared as soon as trading started, climbing to $29.50 a share from their $17.50 offer price on the Nasdaq market.
