Business Objects hooks up with Red Hat

Business Objects SA and Red Hat Inc have entered into a technology partnership in order to respond to increased demand for BI on the Linux platform.

By CBR Staff Writer

Each company will join the other’s technology partner program and they will take part in co-marketing and co-selling programs based on running BO’s BI technology on the Red Hat Enterprise Linux platform. BO has been optimized for Red Hat.

Business Objects is building its Linux capabilities in expectation of market growth, and earlier this year launched BusinessObjects XI, Crystal Reports Server, and BusinessObjects Data Integrator on Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Research from IDC predicts that the market for business intelligence on Linux will grow at a compound annual growth rate of nearly 65% through 2009.
