The deal will see SYSPRO embed Business Objects’ Crystal Reports XI reporting platform into its ERP suite which is principally deployed by mid-market enterprises.
Users will be able to create custom reports by modifying standard SYSPRO reports. The OEM also means that SYSPRO customers no longer need to buy ODBC tools or third-party reporting tools to create modified, custom reports.
The OEM will be available to customers of SYSPRO 6.0 in late 2005/early 2006.
Crystal Reports XI was rolled-out the beginning of this year by Paris-based Business Objects as a Web reporting application aimed squarely at medium-sized enterprises. Its launch followed on the heels of the bigger launch of the enterprise-targeted Business Objects XI (Extreme Insight) platform, which integrates the acquired Crystal Reports product line.
SYSPRO has around 12,000 customers using its accounting, manufacturing and distribution applications software worldwide.
