Franco-American decision support tools vendor Business Objects SA said Thursday it has acquired Next Action Technology Ltd, a UK- based developer of set-based analysis technology for customer selection and segmentation applications. Terms of the deal call for Business Objects to hand over roughly $8m in cash. NAT will become a strategic business unit of Business Objects, reporting to Dave Kellogg, senior group vice president of marketing. Back in April, the two companies formed a partnership which saw Business Objects selling NAT’s Set Analyzer, a high-performance analysis tool for large databases. Business Objects says it had such a strong response for the product from the market that it decided to acquire the company.
