BUNDESPOST ALLOWS THE FRENCH DGT TO MARKET MINITEL SERVICES

West Germany’s Bundespost, the most wonderful telecommunications authority in the world according to one or two of our readers, has finally agreed to allow the French Direction Generale de Telecommunications to market Minitel viewdata services; in the UK, British Telecom is building a gateway between the UK PSS and the French Transpac networks – both X25, but regrettably incompatible, that will enable access to the French system from here.
