BULL REPORTS LOSSES

Compagnie des Machines Bull SA reports that its net loss for the first quarter of the year fell to the equivalent of $167m from $305m a year ago: turnover rose 20% to $1,091m; non-salary costs fell by $80m in the period and the saving accounted for 58% of the reduction in the company’s losses; its net borrowings were trimmed by $38m.
