Groupe Bull SA, Ing C Olivetti & Co SpA and Siemens Nixdorf Informationssysteme AG formally announced yesterday that they have formed Trans European Information Systems as a European Economic Interest Group with headquarters in Brussels: the venture’s objectives are the promotion and development of distributed trans-European systems and applications for public authorities that will be able to link together the national administrations of the 12 Community member countries, and Community institutions, in close co-operation with the European Commission; Trans European will promote and develop applications based on compatible systems common to the three shareholders.
