Bull SA has announced the signing of a significant co-operative agreement with a Bangalore, S Indian-company, PSI Pte Ltd, claimed to be the eighth largest computer company in India. Under the terms of the contract, PSI will receive a licence to manufacture models from Bull’s DPS 7000 mainframe line at its Bangalore plant, growing from an initial 10 to a tar get 50 machines a year. The Indian firm is investing some $9m in the project and Bull is paying about $1m for a 26% stake in PSI; it has agreed to put $14.5m of research and development work the Indian’s way over the next five years. Five Bull engineers will also be secon ded to PSI’s new research centre.
