Compagnie des Machines Bull SA disputes Unisys Corp’s claim to be the first company to apply traditional mainframe techniques to commodity components with its CMP server. Bull’s been selling its mainframe-informed Sagister PowerPC servers since 1996. Sagister uses clustered PowerPC-based SMP servers running AIX with mainframe RAS and connectivity features pre-integrated.
