French systems manufacturer Groupe Bull has brought out two software tool for developing smart card applications using the Windows operating system. Together, Smart Builder and Crypto Builder can be used to develop a range of applications, including one to provide identification of the smart card user and the implementation of digital signatures to ensure the secure use of Microsoft’s Outlook Express and Internet Explorer 4.0.
