Groupe Bull SA of Paris, Ascom AG of Zurich and Identix Inc, Sunnyvale have joined forces in a joint venture to design and produce transaction terminals using Smart Cards and biometric fingerprint identification. The Smart Card readers for the system will come from Bull’s Telesyncro plant in Barcelona; Ascom is the European representative for Identix. The partners plan to do 5,000 systems over two years.
