BULGARIA AND TURKEY READY FIBER OPTIC LINK

Bulgaria and Turkey will officially launch a fiber optic telephone link on Friday as part of their planned telecommunications route connecting Western Europe with the Middle East, Reuters was told yesterday. The telephone line runs from the Bulgarian town of Haskovo and the Turkish town of Odrin and is part of the international Trans-Balkan optical route from Brindisi in Italy through Albania, Macedonia, Bulgaria and Istanbul in Turkey.
