BTG BUYS NATIONS INC FOR STAFF AND CUSTOMERS

Systems integrator BTG Inc is to acquire privately held software and systems engineering house Nations Inc for $10m in cash, and will refinance approximately $3m of Nation’s bank debt. Nations, of Tinton Falls, New Jersey, has 400 staff, mainly software engineers, in 24 US and five international locations, and sells government and commercial clients life cycle software engineering, program management services, systems engineering and integrated logistics support services. It recorded a turnover in 1995 of $45m. Fairfax, Virginia-based BTG, a $400m, 1,100 employee company, said it had bought Nations to expand its engineering capabilities and to gain more government customers.
