BT UNMOVED

By CBR Staff Writer

British Telecommunications Plc is unmoved by UK Director General of Telecommunications Don Cruickshank’s statement that there are no plans to remove the ban on the company delivering broadcast entertainment before 2001, telling Reuter BT’s position remains that the UK needs a broadband infrastructure that would provide cover across the board; BT is willing and able to provide a broadband network service but we need a fair regulatory environment, claiming BT could provide more widespread cover than the cable companies which plan to have some 70% of Britain cabled by 2000.
