British Telecommunications Plc has accepted an invitation from the International Telecom Japan consortium to take a 2% stake: the consortium is the rival to the Cable & Wireless Plc-C Itoh & Co-inspired International Digital Communications Inc: each will offer international telecommunications services from Japan in competition with Kokusai Denshin Denwa Corp, but International Telecom Japan will do so via a cosy relationship whereby it will lease capacity from Kokusai.
