BT SUPPLIES NETWORK TO KENYA

British Telecom is supplying a network of 113 UXD5 digital electronic telephone exchanges to Kenya in conjunction with the Kenyan Telecommunications Authority and London-based Communications Supplies Ltd at a cost of over ?30m: Kenya hopes the whole country will be served by a modern automatic nertwork by 1993 which may lead to orders for a further 243 UXD5 exchanges and System X transit switches from CSL; British Telecom is supervising the installation of equipment and training of engineers to operate and maintain the system.
