BT SPEAKS OUT AGAINST MISLEADING CELLULAR ADVERTISEMENTS

British Telecom has been speaking out against misleading advertising by retailers of cellular services -John Carrington, Telecom’s director of mobile communications, criticised long lease agreements for airtime and methods of call charging that recoup discounts; Carrington claimed that some retailers charge the full rate per minute for the second minute of each call rather than the 30 second unit tariff as charged by the network operator.
