Waving the flag for the benefits of privatisation, British Telecommunications Plc says that all its 100,000 payphones are already adapted to take the new 10 pence coin that went into circulation yesterday as well as the old ones – but London Underground says it will take four months to adapt its 800 automatic ticket machines to it.
