Looks like British Telecommunications Plc is back in the frame in Thailand: its partner, Charoen Pokphand Group, which had been awarded a contract to install 3m new lines throughout the country by the previous administration, only to have it rescinded as monopolistic after the coup, has now been awarded a contract worth $2,400m to $2,800m to install 2m lines in the Bangkok metropolitan area; another company will now get the rural business.
