British Telecommunications Plc, which was swamped with applications for its redundancy packages under which nearly 30,000 people will leave this year, says it will cut another 20,000 to 30,000 jobs by 1995; by the end of 1995, the company plans to have fewer than 160,000 employees, against the 240,000 at privatisation in 1984.
