The price works out at $500 for each of Brightview’s 62,000 customers. The company, which has a reputation for strong customer support, operates the ISP brands Madasafish and Global Internet. It also operates the Waitrose ISP and is working with retailer John Lewis Partnership to launch its new ISP and telephony service under the GreenBee brand.

Brightview generated revenue of 11m pounds ($22m) in the year to June 30, 2006, and earnings before interest, tax and depreciation of 3m pounds ($6m).

The company’s owner Brightview Plc is now a cash shell and will have to decide whether to make an acquisition or return the cash to shareholders.
