British Telecommunications Plc has been ordered to publish an accurate price list after the telecoms regulator Oftel spotted a number of items missing from BT’s current document. Oftel director general Don Cruickshank said he was satisfied that there have been clear breaches by BT of its license and that they are likely to occur again. The order also gives third parties the right to sue BT if they have been damaged by its failure to set out full prices. Cruickshank insisted: It is essential that BT’s price list is accurate and clear so that customers and competitors know what BT’s products are, how they are charged for, and what terms and conditions are attached. An accurate and clear price list is also a key tool for me so that I can ensure that BT offers the same tariffs to customers in comparable conditions.
