British Telecommunications Plc has settled on the fibre optic multiplexers made by Fibronics International Inc and has given the Pembroke, Massachusetts company an initial $8m contract under which British Telecom becomes a worldwide OEM supplier of Fibronics’ MultiHub, which supports Ethernet, Token Ring, local network distribution and real-time protocols in the same chassis and will integrate with British Telecom’s existing local area network and cabling offerings.
