The UK Office of Telecommunications ruled that the special offers to customers made by British Telecommunications Plc constitute an unfair business practice that puts rivals at a disadvantage when it cuts rates at specific periods such as Sundays without cutting interconnect charges to rivals at the same time; the director general, Don Cruickshank said that although the Sunday Special offer had been for a limited period only, similar offers in the future would have a significant effect on competition in the telecommunications market.
