BT has launched MobileXpress Secure Virtual Access (SVA) in the Benelux, a new virtual access offering that integrates aspects of connectivity and security into one single product.

Based on patented Emcads technology from Giritech, a software developer headquartered in Denmark, MobileXpress SVA offers organisations cost savings, increased productivity and new business opportunities by allowing secure access from virtually any PC to applications, office PCs and virtual desktops, the company claims.

Through its Work Anywhere portfolio, BT already offers enterprises and public sector organisations remote access to the company data and applications. The company said that the extended offering enables organisations to reduce cost by scaling back, or even replacing traditional security offerings such as virtual private networks (VPNs) and/or secure tokens.

BT said that the MobileXpress SVA delivers the functionality needed for connectivity to applications, without connecting the remote PC to the network.

Bas Burger, CEO of BT Benelux: “BT MobileXpress SVA also gets rid of the complexity to give partners, suppliers, vendors and customers access to applications on the corporate network. A crucial benefit as today, giving trusted business partners access to applications, data and other resources is a major security headache.”
