British Telecommunications Plc’s BT Laboratories is interested in examining the commercial application of iris recognition as a means of personal identification for a range of telecommunications-related security functions, and has turned to the expert in the field, Mount Laurel, New Jersey-based IriScan Inc for the apporpriate technology. The UK company announced a licensing agreement to collaborate on technical and market application objectives for the use of the iris recognition biometric process; no terms given.
