BT INDIA INTERNET UNIT TALKS WITH HP, COMPAQ & SIEMENS

British Telecommunications Plc’s joint venture with Bharti Telecom Ltd for internet services, Bharti-BT Internet Services Ltd is in talks with Hewlett-Packard Co, Compaq Computer Corp and Cisco Systems Inc to set up its network and provide the software to run it. Bharti-BT plans to invest $12m up front to be a nationwide ISP in India.
