The war of attrition continues: British Telecommunications Plc chairman Iain Vallance has been telling the Independent on Sunday that utilities regulators should appoint non-executive directors to their boards; furthermore, he believes that each watchdog should have a limited lifespan, laid down in law; the Office of Telecommunications has been silent, but Vallance appears to be garnering support for his views from the chiefs of the other regulated UK industries – water, gas and electricity.
