BT AND NYNEX TO PROVIDE DIGITAL CELLULAR PHONE SERVICE IN WEST GERMANY?

British Telecommunications Plc has confirmed that it is negotiating with Nynex Corp, the AEG AG arm of Daimler-Benz AG and a number of other possible partners it prefers not to name, with a view to providing a digital cellular phone service in the big West German market: it says talks are at a very early stage, but agrees that going head to head with the Bundespost fits its mobile communications strategy.
