British Telecommunications Plc and e-commerce software house Commerce One Inc will launch MarketSite, their e-procurement joint venture on Wednesday at London’s e-Biz exhibition. MarketSite is to be an online forum where companies can purchase indirect goods (such as computers, stationery, travel) using Commerce One software over a BT-provided extranet. The companies claim procuring over the service can reduce internal purchase processing costs by up to 90%.
