BT has signed a multi-million pound contract with Oracle to use its cloud services to manage employees.
The telecoms giant will deploy Oracle’s Human Capital Management (HCM) Cloud to manage 87,900 staff worldwide, from recruiting and managing workers to forecasting future workforce needs using analytics capabilities.
The cloud solution will automatically update the service, and BT hopes the fact that all HR staff will use the same user interface will increase compatibility and make admin easier.
It is investing in upgrading its HR management system as it prepares for growth, not least fuelled by its £1.2bn worth of government contracts to provide superfast broadband across the UK’s rural areas.

Oracle president Mark Hurd added: "Oracle’s comprehensive HCM portfolio will help enable BT to increase productivity, accelerate business performance and empower its people."
