BT bags data network contract from HeidelbergCement

Covering around 1,000 locations in 38 countries

By CBR Staff Writer

BT has received a new contract from HeidelbergCement, a Germany-based building material manufacturer, to extend HeidelbergCement’s international data network to cover around 1,000 locations in 38 countries.

BT said that in addition to the data network, it will also provide HeidelbergCement with a central access to the public internet.

The central internet gateways that are located in Germany and USA will be monitored in real time using BT’s managed security monitoring services, powered by BT’s counterpane.

BT Germany CEO Karsten Lereuth said, with their managed security monitoring services they will be able to monitor security-critical elements around the clock and provide optimum protection for HeidelbergCement’s network.
